A Method Statement is part of a safe system of work which covers hazardous activities.
It is a proposed step-by-step method for carrying out the work safely.
The purpose of a Method Statement is to allow those undertaking the work to:
- to do so in a safe manner
- understand the risks
- implement all necessary control measures required by any associated Risk Assessments
- minimise the risks to personnel
The Method Statement may cover:
- the whole project
- a particular project task
- one part of a project
Aims:
To provide the information required to either write or evaluate method statements. Delegates will also understand why these documents are required and their place in the process of project management.
Objectives:
